Karen Patterson ’73, President of the Randolph-Macon Woman’s College Alumnae and Randolph College Alumni Association
I HOPE YOU ENJOY this issue of the Bulletin. Our editor is livening up the articles and making the entire magazine more visually appealing. Let us know if we are hitting the mark.
I was fortunate to attend several Event-in-a-Box gatherings this fall and heard many positive comments about our amazingly smart, savvy, and attractive students. We plan to continue offering Event-in-a-Box as another way to connect us to the campus.
The highlight of my visits was to a chapter where alums ranged across 70 graduation years—from 1940 to 2010—and they all had a grand time! Connections with college classmates are lifelong, but the connections we make through the Alumnae and Alumni Association cross generations and are, in some ways, richer.
Which brings me to Reunion. If your graduation year ends in 3 or 8, or even if it doesn’t, come to Reunion, May 16–19. You will leave exhausted and happy—dinner at the Riding Center for everyone; parties specific to each class; and “age-appropriate” activities—something for everyone. Reunion is the place to meet women (and now men) whose college years do not coincide with yours, but who share the same camaraderie and R-MWC/RC elan.
